On Thursday morning, Facebook experienced an outage for an hour. The disruption pushed users toward other social platforms to voice their disappointment.
At around 7:36 am, the platform stopped working, as was reported by over 1600 users worldwide. DownDetector reports that this number rocketed to 18,000 by the evening.
However, this was only for website users, as the mobile app continued to function normally.
This hiccup resulted in users not being able to access their Facebook feeds, upload posts, or log in to their accounts. The main message on their screens said the same thing – “Sorry, something went wrong. We’re working on getting this fixed as soon as we can.”
What they noticed was that Facebook’s website being down was not the only issue here. Even its Messenger, including Instagram chats, wasn’t allowing messaging, resulting in a glitch. It lasted about an hour, with fewer reports after the first 30 minutes.
The response – frustration and disappointment.
Digital channels, especially social media, have become an increasingly popular means to exchange opinions and messages. So, what did the Facebook users do? They flocked to X to ask other users and share their dilemmas.
