AI-referred traffic now appears across every industrial brand the agency manages, ranks among the top traffic sources for some, and is already generating revenue, a shift in a sector long assumed to be behind. Founder Andrew Maffettone will present the findings at STAFDA’s 50th Annual Convention.
PHILADELPHIA, Sept. 9, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Industrial buyers have long been considered the last holdouts of digital change, slow to move online and unlikely to shop through AI. New data from BlueTuskr, a digital marketing agency for industrial businesses, suggests that assumption is already outdated.
Across dozens of industrial brands BlueTuskr manages, AI-referred traffic now appears in 85% of them, and 76% have generated revenue directly from it. In the accounts the agency analyzed, that traffic has more than tripled year over year, from a base that was nearly invisible in 2025. For one high-seven-figure industrial brand, AI has climbed into its top 10 traffic sources, up from hundreds of sessions per month a year ago to roughly tens of thousands today.
The shift became newly measurable this year, after Google Analytics began classifying AI-assistant traffic as its own category in May 2026. Since then, BlueTuskr has observed the pattern across its full industrial portfolio, and notes that the true figures are likely higher, since many AI-driven visits arrive without a traceable referrer and go uncounted.

The finding reflects a broader change in how technical and industrial buyers research suppliers, evaluating options across more digital touchpoints and, increasingly, starting with an AI assistant rather than a traditional search. Yet most industrial brands have done very little to ensure they appear, and appear accurately, in those AI-generated answers.
