Agentic AI agents are having their big moment with Microsoft at its forefront. Now, it introduces data agents for the Fabric, powered by Azure AI Foundry.
Microsoft’s robust analytics platform Fabric has integrated agentic AI into its suite. These data agents can learn, adapt, and deliver insights to help teams make better data-backed decisions.
With the Azure AI Foundry, organizations can connect customized conversational agents created in Fabric. This will help organizations generate responses personalized for their data and context.
As Microsoft puts it, “By combining Fabric’s sophisticated data analysis over enterprise data with Azure AI Foundry’s cutting-edge GenAI technology, businesses can create custom conversational AI agents leveraging domain expertise.”
Similarly, Copilot and AI capabilities will be enabled for all paid SKUs in the Fabric.
AI as assistants or something more?
AI has been all-pervading. There are two distinct modes for people— fear of AI or excitement of what it can bring. Microsoft has been leading the AI charge with investments in OpenAI and in-house production of models.
These models have been called assistants and agents. But the future also paints a picture of autonomy and replacement. For AI and people, respectively.
Is there a future as grim as the naysayers say it is, or will we find a creative path forward?
