A successful first day at BCI’s BCAW+R highlights how AI helps businesses prepare for and anticipate disruptions, with a focus on predictive analytics.
AI is no longer an option but imperative to enhance resilience strategies. This was the main topic of discussion as BCI kick-started its Business Continuity and Resilience Awareness Week (BCAW+R).
The panel initially dove into some commonplace organizational responses for navigating market disruptions. And the primary one is AI systems.
For resilience across businesses, AI has come to occupy a significant position. It’s no longer just an enabler but the guiding principle, helping organizations augment their capabilities. Artificial intelligence modern tech helps businesses identify and address threat signals and fashion crisis scenarios to make informed decisions.
These were the major discussion points and the conclusion that the panel narrowed their conversations down to.
Beyond the umbrella theme of predictive analytics and forecasting, BCAW+R’s first day emphasized:
1. AI’s elemental role in business continuity. What are the ethical considerations that significantly influence organizations? And can a substandard practice of AI ethics result in business discontinuity?
2. The current use of AI by resilience practitioners. Real-world examples were exchanged across several industries, such as automation, digital twins, and supply chain management. Additionally, there was substantial focus on how these industries are balancing innovation with risk awareness. And a successful and robust execution of AI with their existing infrastructure.
3. Strengths and weaknesses in AI deployment. Identifying the gaps filled and still not fixed by the adoption of this emerging tech, for staying informed. And also center on how tech innovations can be positioned better for the next generation and business scalability.
After dwelling on these, the session connected the aforementioned to how predictive and prescriptive analytics have played an integral role in strengthening resilience across the PPRR framework.
